News and Plans for the future of PL24
We were awarded funding by Par Bay Big Local with which we purchased various pieces of equipment, which can be borrowed by other bona fide organisations within the PL24 area.

The equipment  consists of the following:-

Laptop Projector

Display Boards

Spiral Binding Machine

These items will also be used for PL24 Talks around the area, the first of which was on July 12th for Age Concern, Tywardreath. To book your talk or to find out more details give Gill a call on 813442 or 07969 378 052

You will have spotted that we changed our title to Magazine rather than Newsletter. This was done because we felt that we were more than a just a NEWSletter. This was a unanimous committee decision.

Our main aim is to encourage young people to join us and participate in all aspects of the Magazine. We have already included articles etc. by and about young people, and have our first Junior Reporter in the January 2012 edition. Her name is Nina and she researched and interviewed Tony Foster, a local watercolourist. What will she do for the next edition? It is hoped that we can get together a group of young people as our Junior Committee, who will help us make decisions.

Once the junior committee is up and running, various contacts we have, have offered to give them the opportunity to learn about aspects of such things as Printing, Photography, Writing Articles etc.

They will probably be able to teach us a thing or two as far as technology goes!

We are attempting to get updates from as many local clubs and organisations as we can for each edition and  will continue to liaise with the Police and Local Councils in our attempt to keep you informed about our PL24 area.

December 2011

Imerys very kindly gave us a cheque for £500 from their Community Fund for PL24. We will use this for expenses incurred in putting the magazine together and also towards printing costs if there is a shortfall in money raised from advertisers. It costs us between £900 and £1000 to print the PL24 each quarter.
